The office of Accountant General Punjab disburses salary and allowances of provincial employees (regular/temporary/contract) on monthly basis. The fresh appointees are entered in the SAP system through Form-I which includes all the particulars of the employee. Subsequently, a personnel number is generated which is a unique identification of the employee. Personnel numbers are used for payment of salary and allowances. At present the office of Accountant General Punjab is processing the pay and allowances of 1.01 million employees of the Government of Punjab.
Twenty (22) Payrolls and six (06) CDGLs sections are working in this office. Each section is involved in processing of
- HR changes (Source-1 Green form for hiring of a government employee upon his/her first appointment
- Source-II form for change in personal data, Source-III form for payment of pay & allowances including payment of Leave Encashment, Honorarium, Financial Assistance etc.)
- Pre-audit of contingent claims
- Issuance of leave title, manual Pay slips, Last Pay Certificates and Service Statements
Achievements
- Redemption & Rejection Checklist has been developed for streamlining pre-audit of contingent claims. It has helped in reduction of redemption rate through awareness of DDOs. This checklist has also been uploaded on the Employee Service Portal. All the claims redeemed /rejected in SAP system as well as on Portal are regularly monitored through Dashboard by the management.
- Data Cleansing has been done with regards to master data of employees in SAP system as pointed of out by QAC (correction in CNIC, Date of Appointment, Date of Birth, Gender mismatch, Job keys, Expiry date of contract employees, etc.)
- Leaving action of the employees retired during the previous financial year 2022-23 has been performed in SAP System. It has facilitated the employees for deduction of due income tax and avoided any overpayment to retiring employees
- System Generated LPCs are being issued upon transfer/ retirement to gazetted officers.
- Green Channel Facility has been established for fast track payment of routine nature contingency claims.
